Robotic Guide for Blind is Prototyped For the latest in miniature horse headlines visit: http://www.guidehorse.com/law_n_news.htm Technology may soon replace guide animals as new advances in robotics may make Guide dogs and guide horses obsolete. The prototype below was designed to replace human rickshaw guides and is directed by a sighted person, but it shows great promise as a mobility alternative for the blind as soon as reliable guidance systems and voice command interfaces are incorporated into the robot.
It is unlikely that this technology will become
affordable anytime in the next two decades but technology is
promising to provide the blind with yet another mobility option
besides caning, guide dogs and Guide Horses. Get the Book!
